{farewell}

No, I’m not quitting my blog.

I’ve been thinking about goodbyes. Recently, I said goodbye to my grandpa for the last time. He looked me in the eye, same as always, and said “be good.” I miss that. I won’t ever hear it from him again.

Saying goodbye to him made me think of how we never know when is the last goodbye. We think everyone will be around forever, but that is simply not the case. People die, and leave, and move on, and we never see them again.

Don’t take for granted the time you have with your loved ones, because you never know when it could be taken away. Cherish your family and your friends.

Quotes Challenge {day 3}

The final day has come! This challenge was a lot of fun, and I’m glad I actually did it.

You won’t wake up one morning with everything magically the way you want it. If you want to get up in the morning to pray, do it.

This is the only day you will ever have. Make it worthwhile.

You never know what someone is hiding beneath their smile.

Today I challenge Maria!

That’s all for now,

~Emily

Quote Challenge {day 2}

Day two of the quotes challenge! I’ll get to it in just a second.

First, I just want to give a moment for my grandpa. I miss him, but the gladness I feel that he has finally gone to be with his savior is far greater than my pain. I love him.

Now to the quotes!

Never be afraid

This.

And I am so thankful for that!

Today I’ll nominate my other sister, Cheryl! Gotta do it. 😉

Thank you all for reading!

Quote Challenge {day 1}

I was nominated for this challenge by not one, but two of my blogger and real-life friends. Syd from Squid’s Cup of Tea and Wesley (why) from Generally Normal Science to do the 3 Day Quotes Challenge. Traditionally, when challenged, one is supposed to post 1-3 quotes a day for three days and challenge 3 friends each day. However, this does not mean I am going to do six days of quotes, rather just the original three. And since I only know a few people who blog (two of whom are already doing this challenge) I won’t be challenging 3 people a day.

quote

This especially resonates with me right now as my family is coping with the decline of my grandpa. I so wish I had spent more time talking to him when I was there rather than just watching the tv. Treasure the moments you have with your loved ones, because you never know when they’ll be taken away.

This is such a good thing to keep in mind.

Can you tell what’s been on my mind?

For today, I nominate my sister Carissa from Carissa’s Scribblings.

Until tomorrow!
