February 14th is changed forever for me. My second nephew, Leo Alexander Mann was born today. ❤
It’s a day of love. And while I am not in a relationship, I love Valentine’s Day. I think it’s amazing we have a day that we celebrate love on. Generally, romantic love, but we all know that isn’t the only kind. The feeling of “love” is nice, but feelings change, and fade. Loving someone is a choice. While I hope I get the opportunity to love and be loved by a man, right now I want to choose to love my family. My parents, my brothers and sisters, my nephews! My friends.
I just love love! I love seeing all the happy couples on my Facebook feed. (Such a nice break from the political stuff) I love seeing single girls and guys celebrating love with their families. I love seeing how God orchestrates romances.
One day, I’m sure I’ll celebrate with my Someone Special, but I want to cherish the times I have with my family.
It’s funny, Valentine’s Day was so much harder for me when I was younger. But now I just can’t help but be happy for those who are happy!
And to think of how loved we all are, but our very creator. If I could love Him just half of how much He loves me, I would be content all my days. Here’s to another year of learning to love.
(Here’s a pic of our Valentine’s Day breakfast, because let’s face it, sharing food with loved ones is one of the greatest joys in life. Especially when part of the food is bacon.)
